Saints S Rafael Bush Has Torn Pectoral Muscle

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media is reporting that Saints S Rafael Bush suffered a torn pectoral muscle during Sunday’s loss to the Cardinals.

This explains the Saints’ decision to re-sign veteran Kenny Phillips to a contract on Monday.

New Orleans has had awful luck in regards to defensive backs this year, as CB Keenan Lewis (hip surgery), S Jairus Byrd (knee, still out), and rookie CB P.J. Willliams (torn hammy) have all sustained injuries up to this point.

Bush, 28, is in the final year of his two-year, $3.8 million contract. that included $850,000 guaranteed. He stands to make a base salary of $1.95 million for the 2015 season.
