Mike Triplett reports that the Saints are signing QB Ryan Griffin to their practice squad now that he passed through waivers unclaimed.
There was talk that Griffin could end up beating out veteran Luke McCown for the Saints’ backup job behind Drew Brees, but New Orleans elected to go with the guy who has more experience.
I’m sure the Saints are happy to keep Griffin as some though he could be claimed by a quarterback-needy team.
Griffin, 24, signed with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Tulane last year.
