Saints Sign Veteran Lance Moore To One-Day Contract To Retire With Team

The New Orleans Saints announced Tuesday that they’ve signed veteran WR Lance Moore to a one-day contract so he can retire as a member of the team.

Moore, 33, originally signed on with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Toledo back in 2005. He lasted just a few months before joining the Saints midseason.

Moore spent the first nine years of his NFL career with the New Orleans Saints before he joined the Steelersย as a free agent back in 2014.ย Unfortunately for Moore, he wasย released by Pittsburgh in March of 2015 before later signing a one-year contract with the Lions.

The Falcons signed him to a contract last season, but he elected to retire in August. Atlanta released Moore from the reserve/retired list a few weeks ago.

Over the course of his 10-year career, Moore totaled 389 receptions for 4,816 yards receiving (12.4 YPR) to go along with 44 touchdowns for the Saints, Lions and Steelers.
