Saints Starting Teddy Bridgewater In Week 17

Saints HC Sean Payton announced Friday that Teddy Bridgewater will start for them at quarterback in Week 17, per Nick Underhill.

“He’s had a good week, and he’ll play well,” Payton said of Bridgewater, per Josh Katzenstein.

The was the expectation all along, given that the Saints have locked up the No. 1 seed in the postseason.

Bridgewater, 26, is a former first-round pick of the Vikings back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $6,849,502 rookie contract after Minnesota declined to pick up his fifth-year option.

This offseason, Bridgewater signed a one-year, $6 million contract with the Jets that includes just $500,000 guaranteed. The Jets later traded him to the Saints during the preseason.

In 2018, Bridgewater has appeared in four games for the Saints.
