Saints Veteran OT Zach Strief Expected To Retire

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Saints veteran OT Zach Strief is expected to retire from the NFL.

As of now, Strief has yet to announce anything publicly, but there has been talk for a few months now that he was weighing retirement.

Strief, 34, is a former seventh-round pick of the Saints back in 2006. He played all 12 years of his NFL career in New Orleans and entering the final year of his five-year, $20.5 million contract that included $8.5 million guaranteed and set to make a base salary of $1.1 million for the 2018 season.

In 2017, Strief was limited to appearing in just two games for the Saints before he was placed on injured reserve after suffering ACL and MCL tears last year.
