Saints Waive NT Lawrence Virgil & WR Kyle Prater

The New Orleans Saints have made a series of roster moves on Wednesday including waiving NT Lawrence Virgil, and placed WR Kyle Prater and DB Alden Darby on waivers with injury designations.

Should Prater and Darby clear waivers on Thursday, they would revert to the team’s injured reserve list.

Virgil, 25, wound up signing on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of back in 2014. He spent much of the 2014 season on the Saints’ practice before being promoted late in the year. However, he unfortunately spent the 2015 season on the injured reserve list.

The Saints elected to re-sign Virgil in June.

In 2014, Virgil appeared in one game and recorded two tackles.

Prater, 24, wound up signing on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Northwestern back in May of last year. He was released during the preseason and didn’t catch on with another team during the 2015 regular season.

However, the Saints later signed him to a future/reserve contract back in February.

Prater has yet to appear in an NFL game.
