According to Ian Rapoport, the Seahawks have emerged as the front-runners to sign free-agent DE Ezekiel Ansah.
Rapoport adds the contract has not been finalized and the Bills remain very interested in Ansah.
Ansah visited with the Seahawks near the end of April and would fill a void at defensive end for Seattle. At that time, Ansah was facing questions about his surgically-repaired shoulder and had an upcoming doctor’s appointment.
Ansah has had visits with the Saints, Bills and Ravens so far. The Jets were another team reportedly interested.
Ansah, 29, was taken with the No. 5 overall pick by the Lions back in 2013. He played out the final year of his four-year, $18.595 million rookie contract before the Lions picked up his fifth-year option last May.
Ansah made a base salary $12.7 million for the 2017 season before the Lions used the franchise tag on him last year that cost them around $17.5 million fully guaranteed for the 2018 season.
Ansah is once again testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
In 2018, Ansah appeared in seven games for the Lions and recorded 11 tackles and four sacks.
