Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times reports that the Seahawks are hosting free agent DT Ahtyba Rubin for a visit.
Condotta mentioned yesterday that Seattle may have interest in bringing back Rubin, who would be a “low-risk” signing for the Seahawks.
Rubin missed the 2018 season due to a biceps injury he suffered during the preseason.
The Seahawks have already added free agents DTs including Jamie Meder and Al Woods, but it appears as though they’re open to bringing in more competition at the position.
Rubin, 32, is a former sixth-round pick of the Browns back in 2008. He spent seven years in Cleveland before signing a one-year deal with the Seahawks.
Rubin later agreed to a three-year extension with Seattle, but was released at the start of the 2017 season. From there, he had brief stints with the Broncos and Falcons before the Raiders signed him to a contract last summer.
For his career, Rubin has recorded 427 tackles, 15 sacks, two interceptions, six forced fumbles, a recovery and seven pass defenses over the course of nine seasons and 144 games.
