Seahawks Place WR Paul Richardson On I.R. & Promote QB B.J. Daniels

The Seattle Seahawks have placed rookie WR Paul Richardson on season-ending injured-reserve Monday, per Danny O’Neil of 710 ESPN.

  • The Seahawks promoted QB B.J. Daniels to their 53-man roster to take Richardson’s place.

No surprise here as reports surfaced Sunday night that Richardson sustained a torn ACL during their win over the Panthers this past weekend.

Seattle will have to lean on receivers Jermaine Kearse, Bryan Walters, Kevin Norwood, and Chris Matthews for the remainder of playoffs.

Richardson, 22, still has another three years remaining on his rookie contract, but the fact that he sustained a serious knee injury so late into the season could impact his chances of being available for the start of the 2015 season.

This season, Richardson caught 29 passes for 271 yards receiving and a touchdown over the course of 15 games.
