The Seattle Seahawks announced Saturday that they’ve promoted DT Damon Harrison and RB Alex Collins to their active roster for Sunday’s game.
The Seahawks also placed DT Bryan Mone on injured reserve and activated CB Neiko Thorpe from the list.
It’s worth mentioning that the NFL changed the rules regarding injured reserve for the 2020 season and players can return from the list in just three weeks.
Harrison, 31, originally signed on with the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of William Penn back in 2012. He spent four years with the Jets before departing in free agency for a five-year, $46.25 million contract with the Giants.
The Giants later traded Harrison to the Lions. He was entering the fourth year of his five-year, $46.25 million deal when he agreed to a one-year, $11 million extension last year.
Detroit released him in February and it took until last month for him to sign on to the Seahawks’ practice squad.
In 2019, Harrison appeared in 15 games for the Lions and recorded 48 tackles, two sacks and three pass defenses.
Collins, 26, is a former fifth-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2016. He was entering the second year of his four-year, $2.566 million contract when he was cut loose by the Seahawks at the start of the 2017 season.
Collins signed on to the Ravens’ practice squad a few days later and was eventually promoted to their active roster. The Ravens brought him back on an exclusive rights contract for the 2018 season but he was released last year following an arrest and a three-game suspension by the NFL.
The Seahawks added Collins to their practice squad a few weeks ago.
In 2020, Collins has appeared in one game for the Seahawks and rushed for five yards on two carries and no touchdowns.
