Seahawks Promoting S Shalom Luani To Active Roster

Seahawks HC Pete Carroll announced Saturday that they’ve promoted S Shalom Luani to their active roster, per Bob Condotta.

Luani takes DT Tom Johnson‘s spot on Seattle’s active roster.

Luani, 24, is a former seventh-round pick by the Raiders out of Washington State back in 2017. He was entering the second year of his four-year, $2.49 million rookie contract and set to make a base salary of $555,000 this season when he was traded to the Seahawks coming out of the preseason.

Seattle waived Luani earlier in the week and later re-signed him to their practice squad.

In 2017, Luani appeared in all 16 games for the Raiders and recorded 18 total tackles, two pass defenses, and no interceptions.
