Seahawks HC Pete Carroll told reporters after Sunday’s game that RB Rashaad Penny suffered an ACL injury.

While Carroll didn’t know the full severity of the injury, he referred to Penny’s issue as “significant.”

A serious ACL injury would knock Penny out for the remainder of the season and lead to him being placed on injured reserve.

Penny, 23, is a former first-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2018. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $10,765,436 contract that includes a $5,909,408 signing bonus with the Seahawks.

Penny’s rookie deal includes a fifth-year option for the Seahawks to pick up in 2021.

In 2019, Penny has appeared in 10 games for the Seahawks and rushed for 370 yards on 65 carries (5.7 YPC) to go along with eight receptions for 83 yards receiving and four touchdowns.

We’ll have more regarding Penny as the news is available.
