Seahawks Re-Sign DT Taniela Tupou, Cut Two

The Seahawks officially announced the signing of DT Taniela Tupou on Monday.

• The Seahawks also waived DE David Parkins and DE Josh Shirley from injured reserve.

Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times is hearing that the Seahawks are likely to re-sign DT Taniela Tupou after S L.J.McCray failed a physical following a trade with the 49ers.

Tupou, 23, wound up signing on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Washington back in May. He signed a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Seahawks and was set to make a base salary of $450,000 for the 2016 season.

Unfortunately, Tupou was cut loose this past weekend, as the Seahawks trimmed their roster down to 53 players.
