Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that the Seahawks are re-signing DT Jarran Reed to a two-year, $23 million contract.
A recent report said that Seattle was working to re-sign Reed along with DE Jadeveon Clowney and it looks like they were able to come to an agreement on a short-term deal that will allow him to test the market again in a few years.
Reed, 27, was selected in the second round out of Alabama in 2016. He played out the final year of his four-year contract worth $4,889,636 that included a signing bonus of $1,756,100.
Reed was suspended for the first six weeks of the 2019 season after violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy from an incident in 2017. He’s in line to be an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his NFL career.
In 2019, Reed appeared in 10 games for the Seahawks and recorded 27 tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble and a pass defense.
We had him included in our Top 100 – 2020 Free Agents list.
