Update:
The Seattle Seahawks officially announced Monday that they’ve released G D.J. Fluker.
D.J. Fluker announced Sunday, via his Twitter account, that he’s been released by the Seahawks.
Dear 12s,
I was released by the Seahawks today. Couple of things: I am not upset, or hurt. This is a business and one that Iโve been in for a while. I want to thank John and Pete for their very thoughtful calls.
Stay safe, be kind and I love yโall.
Thank you, Seattle.

It was clear that the Seahawks were going to make some cuts at offensive line in the near future considering that they had around 18 or so on their 90-man roster.
Fluker, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Chargers back in 2013. He played out his four-year, $11,402,498 contract before the Chargers elected to pick up his fifth-year option worth $8.821 million for the 2017 season.
The Chargers released him and he later caught on with the Giants for the 2017 season. From there, he signed a one-year contract with the Seahawks in 2018 and returned to Seattle on a two-year deal last year.
According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Fluker will free up $3,687,500 of available cap space while creating $500,000 in dead money.
In 2019, Fluker appeared in 14 games for the Seahawks, making 14 starts for them at guard. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 48 guard out of 81 qualifying players.
