The Seattle Seahawks officially signed DE Branden Jackson to their practice squad on Wednesday and released LB Antwione Williams from the unit.
The Seahawks’ practice squad now consists of:
- QB Alex McGough
- WR Caleb Scott
- WR Keenan Reynolds
- CB Akeem King
- RB Lavon Coleman
- DT Frank Herron
- G Jordan Roos
- T Elijah Nkansah
- TE Marcus Lucas
- DE Branden Jackson
Jackson, 25, originally signed on with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Texas Tech back in May of 2016. Oakland decided to make him one of their final roster cuts but signed him to their practice squad after clearing waivers.
The Raiders eventually promoted him to their active roster but, once again, made him one of their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason. Seattle signed him to their practice squad in September of last year and was eventually promoted to the active roster.
The Seahawks re-signed Jackson to an exclusive rights contract this offseason before cutting him loose last weekend.
In 2017, Jackson appeared in 12 games for the Seahawks and recorded 11 total tackles, 0.5 of a sack, and one pass defense.
