Seahawks Signing OT Tyrus Thompson

Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports that the Seahawks are signing OTย Tyrus Thompson to a contract after they lost LT George Fant for the season with a torn ACL.

Thompson, 25, was a sixth-round pick by the Vikings in 2015, but was unfortunately waived from the team with an injury designation and later reverted to the teamโ€™s injured reserve list after clearing waivers.

Thompson signed a two-year,ย $990,000 contract with the Lions last year before he was waived after last year’s draft. Thompson caught on with the Saints soon after but was once again waived with an injury designation coming out of the preseason and later reverted to injured reserve.

The Panthers signed Thompson to their practice squad toward the end of last year and elected to bring him back on a future/reserve contract this past January. Unfortunately, Carolina cut Thompson loose a few weeksย ago.

Thompson has yet to appear in an NFL regular season game.
