Seahawks Waive Veteran DT Sealver Siliga

The Seattle Seahawks officially waived veteran DTย Sealver Siliga on Tuesday to make room for DT John Jenkins, who was signed to a contract.

Siliga, 26, wound up signing on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Utah back in 2011. He lasted just a few months with the 49ers before signing on with the Broncos and later being traded to the Seahawks for G John Moffitt. Seattle elected to waive Siliga a few months later before he signed to the Patriots’ practice squad.

The Patriots didn’t tender Siliga a restricted offer, which allowed him to testย the market as an unrestrictedย free agent. The Seahawks signed him to a contract back in March before putting him on injured reserveย and later cutting him loose coming out of the preseason.

The Seahawks signed him to a contract close to a month ago.

In 2016, Siliga has appeared in four games for the Seahawks and recorded five tackles and no sacks.
