Tom Pelisero of NFL Media reports that the Seahawks are waiving WRย Tanner McEvoy on Saturday.
The Seahawks announced Sunday that they’ve officially waived McEvoy and signed FBย Daniel Marx.
It appears as though the Seahawks have gotten a head start on making some notable roster cuts before the upcoming deadline to trim rosters down to 53 players.
Seattle has been reshaping their roster this summer it was clear that McEvoy was on the chopping block this preseason, so this doesn’t come as a big surprise.
McEvoy, 25, wound up signing on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Wisconsin back in 2016. He’s currently in the final year of his rookie contract and stands to make a base salary of $630,000 for the 2018 season.
In 2017, McEvoy appeared in 15 games for the Seahawks and caught five passes for 113 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
