The Seattle Seahawks have withdrawn the exclusive right tender they placed on WR Malik Turner, according to Field Yates.
This means that Turner is now an unrestricted free agent.
You rarely see a team withdraw an exclusive rights tender on a player, seeing as it’s just a one-year contract worth the minimum. However, it appears as though Seattle determined that Turner is no longer in their plans moving forward.
Turner, 24, wound up signing on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Illinois back in 2018. He was in the first year of his three-year, $1.71 million contract when the Seahawks waived him coming out of the preseason.
Since then, Turner has been on and off of the Seahawks’ active roster. Seattle opted to tender him an offer as an exclusive rights free agent back in February.
In 2019, Turner appeared in 15 games for the Seahawks and caught 15 passes for 245 yards receiving and one touchdown.
