Seneca Wallace, Browns Starting Quarterback?

Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that Cleveland Browns starting quarterback Jake Delhomme will undergo an MRI on his ankle Tuesday. Delhomme injured his ankle during the first half but elected to stay in the ball game and finished with two interceptions in the teams loss to Tampa Bay. The team said that they never considered taking Delhomme out of the game despite the injury to his ankle.

Backup quarterback Seneca Wallace looked great during the preseason and has shown a play making ability that Delhomme has not. Depending on the results of Delhomme’s MRI, the team could look to make a change at quarterback for their upcoming game against Kansas City.

If Wallace get the nod and plays up to his ability, he could make it very hard for the Eric Mangini to stick with Delhomme despite the teams desire to have Delhomme start.
