Steelers Claim OT Jake Rodgers Off Waivers From Texans

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Steelers have claimed OT Jake Rodgers off of waivers from the Texans on Wednesday.

Rodgers, 26, is a former seventh-round pick of the Falcons back in May of 2015. He was, unfortunately, unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason but later signed on to the Giants’ practice squad at the start of the 2015 season.

After a few years with the Giants, Rodgers signed on with the Steelers this last May and was on and off of their practice squad before catching on with the Chargers. Rodgers briefly returned the Steelers before joining the Texans in December and returning to the team on a futures deal this offseason.

Houston waived Rodgers on Tuesday.

Rodgers has yet to appear in an NFL game.
