Mac’s Football Blogย reported earlier in the day that the Steelers restructured the contract of NTย Casey Hampton to free up some more cap space.
Hampton was set to makeย $4.89 million for the upcoming season which would have gone against their cap asย $8.1 million so reworking this deal makes plenty of sense when you consider that they’ll have to be prepared to lockup WR Mike Wallace if someone tries to sign him away.ย Pittsburgh reduced Hampton’s salary toย $2.8 million which drops his cap number toย $3.09 million.
