Steelers LB Sean Spence’s Career Could Be Coming To An End

Steelers LBs coach Keith Butler mentioned thatย it would be “miraculous” if last year’sย third-round pick Sean Spence was able to continue his career in the NFL, via theย Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Spence, 22, suffered a terrible knee injury last season. He tornย both his ACL and LCL whileย dislocating the knee, so there are someย legitimateย questions as to whether or not he’ll even be the same. A report from back inย Februaryย mentioned that Spence was dealing withย damage to his peroneal nerve, which located behind his knee.

Steelers GM Kevin Colbert actually referred to it as “unknown injury.

Butler adds thatย the team will keep him on their reserve list for the 2013 season in case he’s able to recover in time forย 2014.
