The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Monday that they’ve signed OLB Tuzar Skipper to a two-year contract and 11 players to futures contracts for the 2020 season.
The players signed to futures contracts include:
- WR Jamal Custis
- WR Quadree Henderson
- QB J.T. Barrett
- CB Alexander Myres
- RB Ralph Webb
- S Tray Matthews
- TE Christian Scotland-Williamson
- OT Christian DiLauro
- OT Derwin Gray
- TE Kevin Rader
- DE Henry Mondeaux
Skipper, 24, wound up going undrafted out of Toledo back in April. He later agreed to a three-year, $1.755 million contract with the Steelers and managed to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason.
However, Pittsburgh waived Skipper coming out of the preseason and he was later claimed off of waivers by the Giants. New York added him to their practice squad in October and he was later signed to the Steelers’ active roster.
In 2019, Skipper appeared in six games for the Giants and recorded three tackles, a half sack and a fumble recovery.
During his college career at Toledo, Skipper recorded 90 tackles, 9.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, two recoveries and a defensive touchdown over the course of three seasons and 24 games.
