Steelers Sign First-Round Pick LB Ryan Shazier

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced the signing of first-round pick LB Ryan Shazier on Thursday.

Pittsburgh now has six of their nine draft picks under contract.

Shazier’s four-year contract is worth an estimated $9,507,198 and includes a signing bonus of $5,234,328, according to OverTheCap.com.

Since the draft concluded, there have been reports that have mentioned that the Cowboys were hoping to select Shazier right before the Steelers grabbed him at No. 15 overall.

Shazier possesses incredible speed for a linebacker, so it will be interesting to see what Dick LeBeau is able to do with him in the coming years.

At Ohio State, he totaled 317 tackles, 45.5 tackles for a loss, 15 sacks, an interception and nine forced fumbles.
