Steelers Will Re-Sign RB Jonathan Dwyer

Ed Bouchette reports that the Pittsburgh Steelers will re-sign RB Jonathan Dwyer.

Pittsburgh cut Dwyer loose a little over a week ago. He did meet with the Giants, who happen to be in need of help at the running back position, but they appear to be focused on other options.

The Steelers lost to the Titans on Sunday, which was already disappointing enough, but reports from after the game indicated that LaRod Stephens-Howling suffered a serious knee injury. Isaac Redman was underwhelming to say the say the least, so it makes sense that they would look to add another running back this week and the fact that Dwyer is familiar with their system only helps.

It will be interesting to what kind of role he has in their offense next week when they take on the Bengals Monday night.
