Smith announced his retirement prior to the start of the season. However, there’s been some skepticism that this was really it for Smith.

Recent reports said thatย Smith had beenย dabbling in business and began the process of preparing for a life after football, but wasn’tย quite ready to completely commit toย life after the NFL.

Smith, 36, has two years remaining on hisย three-year, $10.5 million contractย and stands toย make a base salary of $3 million this year and next.

Smith suffered aย torn Achillesย earlier in the season that led to him being placed on season-ending injured reserve.

In 2015, Smith has appeared in sevenย games and caught 46 passes for 670 yards receiving and threeย touchdowns for the Ravens.
