Surprise! Buccaneers Will Interview Marty Schottenheimer

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will interview longtime NFL head coach Marty Schottenheimer for their head coaching vacancy.

I can’t say that I expected to see Marty Schottenheimer interviewing for head coaching jobs but the Buc’s have been looking for someone with a good deal of experience and Schottenheimer brings that much. He hasn’t coached in the NFL since 2006 but he did lead the Virginia Destroyers (UFL) to a championship in the leagues inaugural season.

Other coaching candidates would include: former Vikings head coach Brad Childress, Texans DC Wade Phillips, Bengals DC Mike Zimmer, Titans DC Jerry Gray and Texas A&M head coach Mike Sherman.
