Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that teams have been “consistently calling” the Panthers about a potential trade for WR Curtis Samuel.
Rapoport mentions that Carolina has been to making some trades this offseason and Samuel will be a name to watch from here.
Samuel had been the subject of some trade speculation after Carolina went out and signed WR Robby Anderson to a two-year, $20 million deal, presumably to start across from WR D.J. Moore.
Samuel, 23, is a former second-round pick of the Panthers back in 2017. Samuel is entering the final year of his four-year contract worth $6,453,660, including a signing bonus of $2,833,572, and stands to make a base salary of $1.22 million in 2020.
In 2019, Samuel appeared in all 16 games for the Panthers and caught 54 passes for 627 yards receiving and six touchdowns to go along with 130 yards rushing on 19 carries and another touchdown.
