Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that veteran OLB Terrell Suggs will “strongly consider” not reporting to his new team if he’s claimed by anyone other than the Ravens.
Suggs reportedly prefers to finish out his career with the Ravens, which is why it remains to be seen whether he would report to another team.
NFL teams have until 4 pm EST on Monday to place a claim for Suggs. Schefter notes that any claiming team will owe him just over $350,000 for the final two weeks of the regular season.
Suggs, 37, is a former first-round pick of the Ravens back in 2003. He played out the final year of his five-year, $28.5 million contract that included $16 million guaranteed and made a base salary of $6.5 million for the 2018 season.
The Cardinals later signed Suggs to a one-year, $7 million contract this past March before waiving him on Thursday.
In 2019, Suggs has appeared in 13 games for the Cardinals and recorded 37 tackles, 5.5 sacks, four forced fumbles and a recovery. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 70 edge rusher out of 110 qualifying players.
