The Texans have released LB Daren Bates, per Aaron Wilson.
Bates is the third cut for Houston today after previously moving on from DT Albert Huggins and QB Alex McGough.
The veteran signed with Houston last week.
Bates, 29, wound up signing on with the Rams as an undrafted free agent out of Auburn back in 2013. He played out his rookie contract with the team before testing the open market and eventually signing a one-year contract with the Raiders.
The Titans signed Bates to a three-year, $6 million back in 2017. He had been testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent this offseason before signing with Houston.
In 2019, Bates appeared in 13 games for the Titans and recorded six tackles, a forced fumble and a recovery.
