John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports that the Texans have signedย RB Tim Cornett andย OT Mike Farrell whileย releasingย LB Ricky Sapp.
Cornett, 22, signed with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out ofย UNLV back in May. He happanes to be UNLV’s all-time leading rusherย totalingย 769 carriesย for 3,733 yards (4.85 YPC) and 35 career touchdowns.
Farrell, 24, signed on with the Steelersย as an undrafted free agent out of Penn State last year, but ultimately wasn’t able to make the team’s 53-man roster. He later joined the Broncos on aย reserve/future contract before being waived in April.
Sapp, 27, was a former fifth-round pick of the Jets back in 2012. He lasted just one year with the team before he was put on waivers and ultimatelyย claimed by the Texans in November of last year.
He manged to play in each of the team’s final four games of the season, but totaled just a single tackle on defense.
