According to Mike Garafolo, the Texans are signing veteran S Mike Adams on Monday.
- The Texans also signed DB Jonathan Owens to their practice squad and released S Austin Exford from the unit.

Adams was last with the Panthers before the team informed him this offseason they would look at other options this year. He worked out for the Texans on Friday.
Adams, 38, originally signed on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Delaware back in 2004. He three years in San Francisco before catching on with the Browns in 2007.
After a few years with the Broncos, Adams signed on with the Colts in 2014 and spent three years in Indianapolis before signing a two-year contract with the Panthers in 2017.
In 2018, Adams appeared in 16 games for the Panthers and recorded 75 tackles, three interceptions and six pass defenses. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 86 safety out of 93 qualifying players.
