According to WKRN in Nashville, Texans TE Ryan Griffin was arrested and charged on Friday night after he allegedly became “disorderly” and punched through a window at a Nashville hotel.
Police were reportedly dispatched just before midnight to report of a disorderly person in custody.
The defendant told police that Griffin was walking when he punched one of the front windows at a hotel and “destroyed” it. Griffin’s left hand and fingers were bleeding and police observed that he was stumbling on the sidewalk and nearly walked into traffic.
Griffin was charged with vandalism over $1,000 and public intoxication.
It’s worth mentioning that the Texans drafted San Diego State TE Kahale Warring in the third round last night.
Griffin, 29, is a former sixth-round pick of the Texans back in 2013. He’s currently in the second year of his three-year, $9 million contract that includes $3.225 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $2.25 million for the 2019 season.
In 2018, Griffin appeared in 14 games for the Texans and caught 24 passes for 305 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
