The original-round tender will cost them $2.14 million for the 2020 season and give them the opportunity to match any offer he receives from another team.
Cole, 25, signed on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Missouri State back in 2017. He is in the final year of a three-year, $1.66 million contract and is set to earn a base salary of $645,000 this season.
He sustained a torn ACL in Week 11, ending his season.
In 2019, Cole appeared in 11 games for the Texans and recorded 15 tackles, a fumble recovery, and a pass defense.
