Texans Tried Out Nine Players

According to Howard Balzer, the Houston Texans brought in nine free agents for workouts on Tuesday including QB Garrett Gilbert.

4. OT Aaron Evans
5. OT Justin Evans
6. OT David Steinmetz
7. QB Garrett Gilbert
8. OT Taylor Hart
9. DT Tomasi Laulile

Gilbert, 27, is a former sixth-round pick of the Rams back in 2016. He lasted less than a year in Los Angeles before joining the Patriots during his rookie season.

Gilbert had brief stints with the Lions and Raiders before the Panthers signed him to a one-year contract last year. Carolina waived him coming out of the preseason and he was on and off of their practice squad last year.

Unfortunately, the Panthers cut Gilbert loose again last weekend.

Gilbert has yet to appear in an NFL game.
