The Houstonย Texans have announced thatย Case Keenum will be their starting quarterback for Week 7’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
โHeโs given me confidence through camp,โ HC Gary Kubiak said regarding Keenum. โHe continues to grow. Weโre looking for a spark and he deserves an opportunity.โ
Keenum had been sharing snaps throughout the week with T.J. Yates while Matt Schaub is recovering from an ankle injury that forced him out of last weekend’s game.
โI didnโt hesitate because I felt like we needed a spark,โ Kubiak said.
Keenum is from theย University of Houston and has become somewhat of a fan favorite since joining the team. He’ll have a huge challenge against one of the best defenses in the league in the Chiefs.
Houston is obviously considering all of their options in case they decide to get out of Schaub’s contract this offseason, which will most likely be a popular topic in the coming weeks.
