Texans Tried Out Six Players Including DL Anthony Lanier

According to Howard Balzer, the Houston Texans brought in six free agents including DL Anthony Lanier for workouts on Tuesday.

The full list of tryouts for the Texans includes:

  1. RB Matthew Dayes
  2. RB Jeremy McNichols
  3. DE Anthony Lanier
  4. CB Herb Waters
  5. CB D.J. White
  6. WR Isaac Whitney

Of this group, the Texans signed Whitney to their practice squad.

Lanier, 25, wound up signing on with the Redskins as an undrafted free agent out of Alabama A&M back in 2016. He was waived with an injury designation coming out of the preseason and he later reverted to the team’s injured reserve list.

Washington waived Lanier from injured reserve with an injury settlement a few weeks ago.

In 2017, Lanie appeared in 11 games and recorded 14 tackles, five sacks, a forced fumble, a recovery and six pass defenses.
