Titans Add Three To Active Roster

The Tennessee Titans announced Saturday that they’ve promoted CB Kareem Orr to their active roster and also added WR Cameron Batson and LB Daren Bates from the practice squad.

Batson and Bates will revert back to the practice squad on Monday without clearing waivers.

Bates, 29, wound up signing on with the Rams as an undrafted free agent out of Auburn back in 2013. He played out his rookie contract with the team before testing the open market and eventually signing a one-year contract with the Raiders.

The Titans signed Bates to a three-year, $6 million back in 2017. He had been testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent this offseason before signing with the Texans last month.

Houston cut Bates loose coming out of training camp before re-signing him to the practice squad.

In 2019, Bates appeared in 13 games for the Titans and recorded six tackles, a forced fumble and a recovery.

Orr, 22, wound up going undrafted out of Chattanooga back in April. He later signed a three-year, $1.755 million contract with the Titans.

Unfortunately, Orr was waived coming out of the preseason and later signed to the Titans’ practice squad. He’s been on and off of the Titans’ roster this season.

During his two years at Chattanooga, Orr recorded 81 tackles, a forced fumble, three recoveries, 14 pass defenses, and five interceptions over the course of 20 games.
