The Tennessee Titans have picked up LT Taylor Lewan‘s fifth-year option, according to Field Yates.
The fifth-year option is guaranteed only for injury and won’t prevent them from working on a long-term extension over the next year.
This is an easy decision for the Titans, considering that Lewan is among the best young offensive tackles in the NFL.
Lewan, 25, was taken with the No. 11 overall pick by the Titans back in 2014. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $11.485 million rookie contract that includes a $1.986 million base salary for the 2017 season.
In 2016, Lewan appeared in all 16 games for the Titans and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 7 offensive tackle out of 78 qualifying players.
