The Tennessee Titans are exercising CB Adoree Jackson‘s fifth-year option for the 2021 season, according to Paul Kuharsky.
The fifth-year option is guaranteed for injury only and won’t prevent them from negotiating a contract extension in the coming months. It was projected to cost them $10,244,000 for the 2021 season.
Jackson, 24, is a former first-round pick by the Titans out of USC in the 2017 NFL Draft. He’s entering the final year of his four-year, $11,282,783 rookie contract and is set to earn a base salary of $2,003,561 in 2020.
In 2019, Jackson was limited to appeared in 11 games and recorded 45 total tackles, three tackles for loss, no interceptions, and six pass defenses.
Jackson also had 23 yards as a kickoff return specialist, to go along with 26 yards as a punt returner. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 8 overall cornerback out of 112 qualifying players.
