The Tennessee Titans announced Monday that they’ve placed DT Jurrell Casey, K Ryan Succop and TE Jonnu Smith on the PUP list to start training camp.
Tennessee will also place first-round DT Jeffery Simmons on the non-football injury list.
These players will still count against the 90-man roster limit for the Titans and can be activated from the lists at any time.
Casey, 29, is a former third-round pick of the Titans back in 2011. He still had two years remaining on his five-year, $37.431 million contract when he agreed to a four-year, $60.4 million extension that included $40 million guaranteed back in 2017.
Casey stands to make base salaries of $10.55 million and $11.25 million over the next two years of the agreement.
In 2018, Casey appeared in 15 games for the Titans and recorded 64 tackles, seven sacks, and two forced fumbles.
Smith, 23, is a former third-round pick of the Titans back in 2017. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $3.175 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $669,000 and $756,625 in the final two years of the agreement.
In 2018, Smith appeared in 13 games for the Titans and caught 20 passes for 258 yards receiving and three touchdowns.
Simmons, 21, was the No. 19 overall pick by the Titans out of Mississippi State. Some felt he could have been a top-10 pick this year before he suffered a torn ACL.
According to OverTheCap.com, Simmons receives a four-year, $12,663,750 rookie contract that includes $7,230,00 signing bonus.
During his three-year college career at Mississippi State, Simmons recorded 159 tackles, 30.5 tackles for a loss, six sacks, five forced fumbles, two recoveries, one defensive touchdown and seven pass defenses over the course of 37 games.
