The Tennessee Titans announced Tuesday that they’ve placed punter Brett Kern on the COVID-19 list.
This, unfortunately, comes just a day after the Titans placed K Stephen Gostkowski on the COVID list, so there are concerns about their special teams unit for Week 17.
The COVID-19 list was created this summer for a player who either tests positive for or who has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person or persons.
Players will remain on the list until they are medically cleared to return.
Kern, 34, originally signed on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent back in 2008. He lasted just over a year in Denver before being claimed off of waivers by the Titans.
Kern has gone on to play the past 12 seasons for the Titans. The Titans signed him to a four-year extension worth $12.55 million last year.
In 2020, Kern has appeared in 12 games for the Titans and totaled 1,649 yards on 36 attempts (45.8 YPA) to go along with 21 downed inside the 20-yard line.
