The Tennessee Titans are releasing veteran K Ryan Succop on Friday, according to Terry McCormick.
The only other kicker on the Titans’ roster right now is Greg Joseph, who was signed off of the Browns’ practice squad last year.
Succop, 33, is a former seventh-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2009. He played five seasons in Kansas City before joining the Titans for the 2014 season.
Succop finished out his contract before agreeing to a five-year, $20 million contract with the Titans that includes $7.25 million guaranteed last year. He was placed on injured reserve coming out of the preseason and designated as a player to return halfway through the year.
According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Succop will free up $2 million of available cap space while creating $2.1 million in dead money.
In 2019, Succop appeared in six games for the Titans and was 1-6 on field goal attempts (16.7 percent) and made 24-25 extra points.
