Lewan was the last remaining player from the 2014 draft class to sign his rookie, which shouldn’t be surprising given that Chance Warmack — Tennessee’s 2013 first-round pick — was also the last player to sign his rookie deal.
Lewan’s rookie contract is worth a projectedย $11,484,998 and includes a signing bonus ofย $6,672,728, according to OverTheCap.com.
Interestingly enough,ย John Clayton of ESPNย mentioned last weekย thatย the presence of Lewanย could make the incumbent LTย Michael Roosย “trade bait” for a team in need of a veteran tackle.
It is hard to criticize the Titans for selecting Lewan at pick No. 11 in the 2014 NFL Draft, as he was widely projected to be picked earlier. ย Still, the pick did raise some eyebrows, as Roos has performed very well at left tackle, and the Titans signed OTย Michael Oherย this offseason to a four-year, $20 million deal.
