Titus Young Sent Home Again, Lions Lose Ryan Broyles For The Rest Of The Season

Titus Young

Lions head coach Jim Schwartz told reporters that WR Titus Young was sent home again, per Anwar Richardson.

Richardson added that Young is “not part of the team.

I certainly believe in second chances,” said Schwartz, per Dave Birkett. “But you need to make the most of the opportunities you have. In this case, that didn’t happen.

It’s actually worth wondering whether or not Young could be done in Detroit. He continues to be a major liability for the Lions, even though they could really use some help at wide receiver. Detroit will likely reevaluate the situation at the end of the season.

Ryan Broyles

Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports that Lions rookie WR Ryan Broyles suffered a torn right ACL and is out for the rest of the season.

This is terrible news for the young receiver who had shown some promise in recent weeks. Broyles actually suffered a torn ACL in his left knee last year while playing for the Oklahoma Sooners, so this is hardly the type of injury that he and the Lions would like to see.

There’s actually a chance that Broyles could miss part of the 2013 season, considering that he suffered the injury so late into the season.

Mike Thomas figures to see more playing for the rest of the season now that Broyles is done and Young remains a liability.
