According to Ian Rapoport, the Dolphins are trading draft compensation to the Chiefs in exchange for RB DeAndre Washington.
Albert Breer reports the Dolphins will send a 2021 sixth-round pick to Kansas City in exchange for Washington and a 2021 seventh-round pick.
With just minutes to go until the deadline, the Dolphins pulled off their second trade of the day, albeit another minor move.
Washington, 27, is a former fifth-round pick by the Raiders in the 2016 NFL Draft out of Texas Tech. He finished his four-year rookie contract and later agreed to a contract with the Chiefs back in April.
Kansas City waived Washington coming out of training camp and later re-signed him to their practice squad. He’s appeared in one game for the Chiefs this season.
In 2019, Washington appeared in all 16 games for the Raiders and recorded 108 rushing attempts for 387 yards (3.6 YPC) and three touchdowns, to go along with 36 receptions for 292 yards receiving (8.1 YPC).
