According to Ian Rapoport, the Dolphins are trading RB Kalen Ballage to the Jets for a conditional late-round pick.
Miami had initially planned to release Ballage but the Jets swooped in with an offer before he could be placed on waivers.
New York will send a conditional 2021 seventh-round pick to Miami in exchange for Ballage, the Dolphins announced.

Jets HC Adam Gase was in the same position with the Dolphins when they drafted Ballage, so he adds another familiar face to the backfield.
Ballage, 24, is a former fourth-round pick by the Dolphins in the 2018 NFL Draft out of Arizona State. He was entering the third year of his four-year, $3 million rookie contract.
In 2019, Ballage appeared in 12 games and recorded 74 rushing attempts for 135 yards (1.8 YPC) and three touchdowns to go along with 14 receptions for 63 yards receiving (4.5 YPC).
