TRADE: Giants Trading LB B.J. Goodson To Packers

Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero are reporting that the Giants are trading LB B.J. Goodson to the Packers on Monday.

  • According to Ryan Wood, the Packers are waiving ILB James Crawford.
Trade Details:

Packers get:
  • LB B.J. Goodson
  • 2020 7th-rd pick (conditional)
Giants get:
  • 2020 7th-rd pick (BAL, conditional)

Reports from earlier in the day mentioned that the Giants were waiving Goodson. However, it appears as though the Packers called them about a trade soon after the news of his release surfaced.

Green Bay has been on the lookout for linebacker help and must have felt that Goodson would not have made it to them in the waiver wire on Tuesday.

Goodson, 26, is a former fourth-round pick of the Giants back in 2016. He is entering the final year of his four-year, $2.92 million contract and made base salaries of $630,000 and $720,000 over the past two years of the agreement.

In 2018, Goodson appeared in 15 games for the Giants and recorded 61 tackles, half a sack, a fumble recovery, two interceptions and four pass defenses.
